After a few months of Jay using both fire and lightning, the ninja had started to stop asking Kai for help;which had made Kai feel useless. Even during a mission, when they needed fire, they asked Jay except Kai. Since then, Kai has decided to leave the monastery. After Kai had left, he went to his parents' blacksmith shop. After Nyas death everyone comforts jay, they brush over Kai and his feelings.

Kai goes to a journey to get his sister back to normal as well as finding out his familys secrets.

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. An ordinary mission unexpectedly takes a turn for the worst, and the consequences are devastating for the Ninja. When all else fails, don't let the sun go down on words left unspoken.

Kai always thought he could control his fire. Always thought that he was the master. Cole slowly comes to terms with the fact that he's gay. Coming to terms with the fact that he's in love with his best friends who are both taken and will likely never like him back is difficult.

Everyone knows Nya Sacrificed herself in order to save everyone from Wojira. In doing so she merged with her own element, leaving her lover, her brother and adopted brother with the rest of their elemental family, as she became one with the ocean. But..... But what if, Kai was there. He listened as Bentho explained how Nyad stopped Wojira once and lost herself in doing so. Kai knew what decision she'd make even before she did, he's her older brother and the one that raised her, so he knows. But that doesn't mean he'll just let her pay a price she shouldn't pay, because he's the oldest of the two of them.
