WIP I'm sorry if I update slowly am a very methodical writer and can't stand writing if I'm not in the perfect mood.

War. That's what it's come to. A cold bloody and seeming endless war. Aubrey must fight to protect the people she loves. Lie to protect herself. A peasant teen boy, Charles or "little Chuck", lives in a sleepy town called Chebon. It's a traveler's stop between two kingdoms, restricted by imposing stone walls. Everyone around him lives the settled, slow-paced lives of farmers. There has been peace for 400 years. At sixteen, Charles desires more than a farm boy's life. When wild traveling folk enlist his help, he runs away with them. He leaves a note making his family think he was kidnapped. What they don't know is that he chose their life. Yet when the two kingdoms on either side go to war over Chebon, where will Charles place his loyalty? Will he be forced to reveal himself as a runaway in order to save his town?
