When the members of Project Mindless find an escapee from the City, a place that contains hundreds of mind-controlled people for the purpose of eventually regaining control of post-apocalyptic America, they are astonished. Now all they have to do is figure out how she escaped, and help the others do the same. Easy, right? Not so much. The girl they find has only fragments of memories, and doesn't know what's going on or where she came from. Before they can save the others, they must first educate the girl in everything they know, and show her that the life she's been thrust into isn't as simple as her formerly controlled brain tells her.

The D4R0 chip was implemented in this "super power" society around 2XXX but when it worked better on children than it did on adults, the entire idea of the D4R0 changed. Now, instead of unruly children trying to learn how to control their powers, the chip forced them to suppress their powers rather than learn from them. But, that's something adults didn't know. Something that their government kept secret, because as long as those children were controlled and obedient they didn't need to worry about a generation that would redefine the world.
