Her helmet is cracked down the middle, one side hanging loose. Every word comes out wet and strained; there's so much blood in her throat that her voice sounds like it's being dragged over broken glass.

Maya, an anxious and deeply introverted teenager whose world begins to change after an unexpected friendship with the quiet and effortlessly talented Zoey. What starts as awkward bass practice sessions slowly turns into something much bigger: the formation of a chaotic garage band alongside Maya's energetic older sister Coco and the wildly unpredictable Mymy. As the group struggles through terrible rehearsals, awkward emotions, inside jokes, growing confidence and the terrifying possibility of performing in front of people, Maya is forced to confront fears she's spent years hiding behind. Blending sharp humour, heartfelt character dynamics and emotionally honest moments, this novel explores friendship, family, music, anxiety and the frightening reality of letting yourself care about something for the first time.

This book doesn't even need an introduction, as it is really clear what it is, yet i can tell you I, as the author, tried to kepp the charm and essence of the characters. Here we will follow a dutch autistic & ADD girl called Maya, and we will explore her day to day, knowing her perspective and way of seeing the world. Not only that, but meet new characters and people who influence her day-to-day.

A growing collection of short stories inspired by Studio Massa's Ongezellig. While the series focuses on the three main protagonists Maya, Mymy, and Coco, the background characters from the original series also play a major role and in some stories they themselves are the protagonists. Our main heroes have to fight against the harshness and sometimes the absurdity of our world.
