Asha Cliffe lives with her uncle in suburban Chennai, navigating life as a fairly normal individual. She dreams of becoming the best botanist in the world. Underneath the watchful eyes of her eccentric uncle and her caring aunt, she stays out of trouble and keeps to herself, trying to be a good daughter. A series of events involving illegal businesses and arrests leads her to an unexpected secret - the knowledge of communicating to someone in a different universe. She decides to dismiss it as bogus but curiousity gets ahold of her and performs it, expecting nothing but fragrant smoke and vivid dreams. But her reality shifts as she sees and talks to a girl - not from Earth she lives in. And when Asha finds a way to visit this not-earth, her life unravels.

This poignant piece chronicles a serendipitous reconnection between old friends, sparked by a vivid dream. This is literary non-fiction. The narrator's search for R, a figure from their past, leads to an unexpected reunion after three decades. Their meeting in South Africa is described with profound mindfulness, emphasising the preciousness of rediscovered connections and the ineffable nature of such experiences. The author weaves in poetic references, particularly from Pablo Neruda, to express the depth of emotion and the magical quality of this chance encounter. Cover photo of the author/narrator and R. Property of the author. In the 1970's.

Driving the Bus is a collection of short non-fiction writings. The only links between one writing and the next are that of the author and the non-fiction format. These writings are biographical and auto-biographical, and cover a wide variety of topics. If you prefer being selective to diving in then I recommend reading the Table of Contents for a brief synopsis of each offering. I will be publishing serially, adding a new piece each Sunday. #ProjectReadersReact

Here in this book lies my collection of written poems, all original, all unique. It is common for me to, at times, feel some type of way where I feel the need to burst with emotions of passion or desire, depression, frustration, and happiness or excitement. But sometimes, I just want to tell a story. So I've decided to construct poems, each with their own stories to tell, to help me channel my emotions to and through other people, and that is a true poem.
