The year of 1975, Hombisa Langa independently moves from her quiet homelands to the City of Gold; Johannesburg in order to play a part in providing for her family. Unbeknownst to her future that is about to weaved with different and complex characters. Till the arrival of a French boy from overseas captures her heart and an unlikely friendship is formed between the adolescents. A girl who plays by the book and a boy who is a chaotic risk-taker. But she knows, such a rare friendship... which even blossoms to something deeper may only remain and exist in fairy tales. However, their true feelings for each other are tested on the next trying year during one of South Africa's darkest periods; the Soweto Uprising.
