A rhyming poem I wrote in my creative writing class that I thought I'd share. The poem mainly focuses on what thoughts go through my head on a daily basis.

Teenage years are supposed to be beautiful. At least that's what everyone says. But nobody talks about the ugly parts. The constant overthinking. The jealousy you don't admit. The friendships that silently break. The way one small incident can ruin your entire self-worth. Rose isn't the prettiest girl in the room. She isn't the most confident either. She feels too much, thinks too much, and compares herself to Sia more than she'd ever confess. Between classrooms, group chats, awkward silences, and the need to be chosen Rose slowly realizes that teenage isn't a fairytale. It's messy. It's insecure. It's dramatic. It's ugly. The Ugly Teenage is not a love story. It's a story about identity, insecurity, friendship, and the quiet battles we fight while pretending we're okay.
