Will was dying, he was dying in Mike arms and Mike couldn't do anything about it, it was supposed to be over, Will and El had made sure of it, but they all got separated, Mike was trying to find Will when he saw him stumbling in his direction, bleeding and trembling, and here he was, kneeling on the floor, holding his bleeding best friend in his arms. Or, after the battle against Vecna Will is hurt and confess his love to Mike.

The war with Vecna is over. Graduation has passed. But Mike Wheeler is still mourning a girl the world wants him to forget. In the last summer before their adulthood, on an adventure to go find El, Will discovers a hope that maybe his love for Mike might be reciprocated after all. That hope is dangerous. Between all of their grief, and all the complications love brings along, will they be able to find each other? (this is my head-canon on what happens after season 5)
