I've written a lot of poetry, and I guess people should here it. Some are about me and my experiences but are mostly just poems.

A collection of poetry written by me.

Mainly because this is how I felt in that one favorite subject which would probably be our last day of meeting, but then I was completely... not there.

Silently walking down this endless pathway, Mind filled with unsaid thoughts but there's nothing left to say... Walking in a whole but weighed down by the shattered pieces of my heart, Wanting life to end when really it didn't even start... Empty and broken dragging around this sad soul, If only I had someone to fix me, or someone to hold... Maybe life wouldn't be so tiring and I wouldn't be so broken, Maybe my words wouldn't be silenced but I would indeed be outspoken... ~Britney Heslop

third poem collection. they aren't in any particular order or anything like that, and after 100, there will always be a new one. if you've been here a while, I'm sure you know the drill. now, about the cover. it was a random Thursday, and an old friend and I went to Cottonwood Island Park in PG. this bridge is covered in graffiti and writing, and it has been painted over to cover it up, or boards have been replaced to get rid of it. yet, there's always writing on this bridge. it felt like no matter what, nobody can silence the voices that need to be heard. and I felt that. anyways, please enjoy this chaotic collection of poetry. STARTED: March 2nd, 2021 FINISHED: January 18th, 2022

Under the Bridge & Other Absurdities- a short-winded, knee-popping jog through the ridiculousness of adulthood, from the loss of loved ones, hair-pulling traffic jams, unemployment, unplugging, grisly gun violence, homelessness and the evaporating tonic of youth, featuring "Under the Bridge" in the May 85th issue of Drunk Monkeys & "Bourbon Bumblebees" in the Autumn 2023 issue of New Note Poetry, as well as social media favorites such as "Dad," "Traffic," & "More Guns, Please."

This piece lives in the tension most people pretend not to notice - the silent warfare of energy, perception, and unspoken judgment. "Wickedness Has Good Manners" explores the unsettling reality that hostility doesn't always arrive with noise. Sometimes it's polished. Sometimes it smiles. Sometimes it asks questions in a calm voice under fluorescent lights while something colder moves beneath the surface. The poem captures the psychological awareness of walking into a room where nothing is visibly wrong, yet everything feels off. It's about instinct, about reading micro-expressions, about understanding that discomfort and danger are not the same thing. There's a clash here between lived experience and artificial environments - between street intuition and corporate choreography. This isn't a story about paranoia. It's about perception. About that razor-thin space where intuition sharpens and silence becomes strategy. The poem dissects the invisible dynamics of power, composure, and energy - revealing how tension can exist without confrontation, and how wickedness often hides behind professionalism, etiquette, and controlled politeness. It's reflective, unsettling, and deliberate. A meditation on awareness, survival, and the strange theater of human interaction where the loudest truths are rarely spoken aloud.
