Sepphine Pellington, the heiress to her grandfather's company, the Pellington Jewelry Company. She is often locked in her room, in her family mansion, but in her own will. She was raised, having fear of the outside world, and what crime and corruption lie beyond it. Yet, she longs for love, not family love, she longs for true love. Rouge Bentraunt, the most famous and handsome artist of the decade, has fame and popularity, but is inexperienced with the ladies, making him really, really awkward to talk to. Raised by a loving mother, an overprotective father, and a sister. He has fame, which is a type of love, but he longs for privacy, and love outside of family. A crime committed turned their lives upside down. By the first day of summer, Sepphine boards an airplane for business, and Rouge is on total "hiatus". This is a story of stepping out of your comfort zone, and longing for other things while appreciating what you already have. Published: Finished:

Gabriel DeMarco had grown accustomed to being untouchable. For years, his name had been whispered in hushed tones within the world of art and high society. His reputation as a master of smuggling was as legendary as the masterpieces in his collection. Whether it was the famous Van Gogh stolen from a Parisian gallery or the rare Egyptian artifact retrieved from a private auction, Gabriel was the go-to man for acquiring the most coveted-and the most dangerous-artifacts. But there was a price to his fame. His fear was not of arrest-it was the erosion of his influence. If his operations were traced back to him, the walls would close in. Gabriel's entire world, built on secrecy and control, would collapse. That's when he saw Alina. She wasn't a player in the game of high society or the corrupt underworld. She was something else entirely-a skilled thief with the subtlety and craftiness to do what Gabriel could no longer afford to risk. Gabriel didn't call the police. He didn't even threaten her. Instead, he offered her something far more dangerous: a proposition. "Do you know who I am?" he asked, his voice calm, even amused. "Everyone knows you," she replied bitterly, her eyes narrowing. Gabriel's smile was slow, almost predatory. "Yes, and that's exactly why I need someone like you. Someone who can stay in the shadows, work quietly, and keep their hands clean. No one knows you, Alina. You have the perfect cover."
