Irvin Chege is an ambiverted junior student and journalism major at United States International University- Africa who spends his days trying to uncover the mystery behind his parents' disappearance years ago. He currently resides in an apartment in Roysambu Estate, next to Thika Road Mall (TRM) while occasionally visiting his aunt Martha Chege, his last hope of family, in Eastlands' Buruburu estate, Nairobi. He also has to maintain his one month old relationship with his girlfriend, Tori Wangui as well as his long-term friendship with SAC affairs council secretary Brian Wanderi. Not to mention his increasing schoolwork. One day he stumbles upon his father's briefcase which contain Kenya Secret Service intelligence of plans by a terrorist organisation, the Black Forces, partners with Al-Shabaab and based in Kenya, to launch a citywide attack on Nairobi CBD and assassinate the President of Kenya in public. His discovery revives a decade-old battle between the Black Forces and the KSS as well as seeing Tori abducted in broad daylight by the jihadists. To combat this, M reinstalls Simon as agent 009, therefore throwing him into a world of espionage. Slowly he unveils clues behind his parents' death, but on doing so places not just his aunt's life in danger, but the lives of Tori, Brian, the entire USIU as well as the whole of Nairobi in serious peril. The gripping narrative sees him traverse different parts of the world, from the city of Hong Kong, China to a high stakes casino in Macau, across the cracks and crevices of Nairobi to the romantic city of Venice; all while encountering different enemies, rubbing shoulders with one, gorgeous Chege girl, Bria Wairimu, whom he uses her to track down Abdul Hussein Mazzouri who was betrayed by M and now seeking revenge against the veteran leader of the KSS. Whilst Abdul has ties to M's past, it puts Chege's undying loyalty to the ultimate test. Will he stop it before it's too late?
