Alison is a pretty normal girl with a pretty normal life. That is until her family goes on vacation to Vancouver Island. There, Alison discovers a secret, which can change her forever, will her life ever be the same and can she keep her new secret?
I felt my self falling then eventually hitting a body of water. In my blurred vision I could see I had fell into a large hole in the rock, that lead into some sort of cave. In a panic I tried to swim upwards for air, I was almost to the surface when I suddenly felt something grab onto my ankle, pulling me down with it. Whatever it was it felt cold compared to my body temperature. I looked down to see what it was. I could only make out blurry colors of greens and yellow. I continued to try and swim to the surface, kicking my leg to try and get whatever it was holding on to let go. My lungs started to ache, craving for air. I reached out trying to grab onto one of the rocks above me with no luck...

Mermaids are real, and unlike humans they have powers. Every mermaid is matched with an element when they are born, its not there choice but the worlds in a way, you see the mermaids tail color tells them their element and powers some are more powerful with it and other's not so much to useless. Green tails mean their element is Nature and earth, orange and yellow is light, purple is shadows, pink is wind and then there is blue for water and red for fire. But, when a princess is born with a tail holding 5 out of 6 of the elemental colors and starts getting hunted at the age of one. There was only one thing the king could do to keep his precious babygirl safe and that's what he had done. Amelia Light was adopted at the age of one. Knowing the truth she feel's that these people are her real family even if they aren't by blood. Living a normal life with a loving family and an annoying older brother, Amelia never expected her life to change in the way it did. She had grown up to love the water, she could always hold her breath for a long time and the people around her would always be filled with shock and bewilderment but, to her it was normal. At the age of 5 Amilea could hold her breath for a minute but as she gotten older it changed when she was 10 she could hold it for 5 minutes easy! Now that she is turning 16 soon she can hold it for almost and I mean almost 10 minutes. She had loved everything about it but the summer after she turned 15 some.. Difficulties happen and Amelia discovers she has a tail! A hard secret to keep, and lots of difficulties on the road ahead, will Amelia be able to get all the answer's she is looking for? And what will she do now? Can she really live the best of both worlds? Or will she have to choose? How will she even find were to get her answer's too? A swim gone wrong causes my twin sister to begin to fear the water. She barely even touches it. I went missing when it happened, everyone thinks I drowned, and died.
