I woke up suddenly gagging out water and gasping for air. I sat strait up holding my chest while coughing. Once all the water was out of my lungs I sat back trying to steady my breathing. Unmoving, I looked around, I was still in the strange cave with nothing but a bit of sun as a light source. The cave was dark and eerie. The walls were a dark coal color, the light reflecting off of the water made the walls come to life. The cave was almost mystical in a way. I shivered as a cool breeze blew into the cave from the hole up top. "Mom!" I called out. "Dad!" I waited for someone to reply. In the distance I heard Troy calling out my name. His voice came closer and soon I saw his face over the hole. "Alison! Oh my gosh, are you okay?" He called out. "I think so, where is mom and dad?" I asked. "They went back to the house to call 911 or something." He looked back out of the hole for a moment. "I'll be right back!" He said before he disappeared. "Okay!" I yelled back, wondering if he even heard me. I slowly got back on to my feet and looked down. I was missing one of my sandals, it probably sunk in the deep pool. I sighed and looked back up to the hole in the celling of the cave. I reached out, hoping I could maybe hoist myself out of here, but my fingers just barely reached it. Suddenly I heard a loud splash from the little pool in the middle of the cave. I quickly looked back down to see my missing sandal sitting near the edge. I leaned down to pick it up, puzzled, I looked into the water but nothing was there. "How?" I whispered out loud completely baffled. My heart suddenly started to beat faster as I remember what happened, something grabbed my leg, dragging me down. I slowly backed away from the pool of water, just to be safe. I looked up and stared at the black wall when I noticed some strange blue writing scribbled all around. I squinted, trying to make out what it said, but it just looked like scribbles. I jumped when a voice started me. "Miss?" Someone asked. I looked up at the hole. A man was leaning over it. "Is everything alright down there?" He asked. "Yeah!" I called back. He nodded his head. "We're going to get you out of there okay?" I nodded and waited as he talked with some other people. They used one of those lines they normally use to lower someone into a man hole when it was needed. I wasn't sure what it was called, but as long as it got me out. I thank them and slowly climbed off of the rocks. I could see my mom was teary eyed and my brother's eyes were wide with worry. I ran over to give them a hug and told them that I was okay. After the paramedics looked me over and left, my family decided we'd spend what's left of the day at the house. When we got back I told them that I was tired and turned in early for the night. Falling into a hole, almost drowning, then getting back out was really tiring, I told them. With that I went to my room and plopped onto the bed, before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

The next morning I woke up in a cold sweat. I mumbled as I stretched my limbs before I got up to look out my window, it was pouring rain and the wind brought the rain drops in the room, making that part of the floor soaking wet. I quickly closed the window right before I heard thunder. I jumped, not expecting the loud boom. How long has it been storming? I wondered. I didn't normally sleep though a storm. I sat back onto my bed and sighed. I was feeling dizzy and shaky, maybe I was fighting a fever last night and I probably needed some water. I slowly got up and made my way downstairs into the kitchen. It looked like everyone was still asleep, I looked at the clock on the wall, it read nine sixteen. I opened up one of the cupboards to grab a glass then grabbed the water from the fridge. As I tried to pour myself some water, my legs started to feel week I had to sit down. I put the water and the cup back on the counter and sat down right there on the kitchen floor. My head started to feel dizzy and my stomach started to turn. I leaned my head up against the bottom cupboards and began breathing faster. Oh man, I thought. I probably got the flu. I shut my eyes to stop the world from spinning and tried to focus on something else other than my pain. I thought of cars on a highway, wind blowing in the trees, then, I thought of the ocean. I thought of waves crashing against the shore. Slowly I started to feel better. Which was strange because I always thought the sound of waves was annoying, loud and repetitive. I could never get myself to relax with the sound of waves. I slowly opened my eyes and started to breath slower, the nauseous-ness had past. I stared to get back on my feet when I noticed a faint cyan blue pattern on my ankle. I looked closer but it faded away. Maybe it was just a reflection from something. I slowly got myself up and finished pouring myself some water then I sat at the table staring out the windows.
I watched, mesmerized as the waves rushed toward the shore as the rain pelted it, making dimples in the water. I closed my eyes and pretended I was there, breathing in the salty wet air as the rain soaked my skin. I would be standing just where the ocean touched the shore, the waves would wash away bad memories as it tickled my toes. I toke in another deep breath, I could almost smell the salty air and feel the warm storm wind on my face. Suddenly I could feel the ocean run through my feet, I shot my eyes open and looked around. My eyes grew wide as I realized I was outside and I was standing just where I imagined I would be. I started to walk backwards as I took in my new sudden surroundings. How did I get here, I was just inside! I could feel my heart beat suddenly racing as I started to panic. Am I still dreaming! This isn't possible! I know I was inside! I looked behind me, the front door to the little beach house was wide open and there was foot prints that led right to where I was standing. I looked back into the roaring ocean as the wind wiped my soaking wet hair into my pale face. In all the loud sounds of thunder, rain and the ocean. I could make out a voice, a sweet, soft, calming voice. It sounded like it was coming from the ocean! I looked around for whoever was singing, but no one was there. The voice kept singing, it didn't sing any words, but you can tell that whoever was singing was sad. I squinted when I saw a little sparkling blue thing on a rock in the middle of the ocean. It hummed some more, it almost sounded like they were crying. I tried to walk closer to see what it was. The voice sang some more. "Alison!" I stopped in my tracks, did it just say my name? "Alison!" It called again. I turned around to see my brother running toward me. "Troy?" I mumbled, I looked back to the rock. The singing had stopped and the little blue blur was gone. "Alison!" Troy called out again. When I turned to look back I realized I was almost waste deep in the ocean and a few feet away from the shore. Troy plunged into the water to get to me. "What are you doing!?" He called out, I could see that worry was plastered on his face. My brain wasn't working, I wasn't sure what was going on or what to say. I just stood there with my eyes wide and my mouth gaping open. Troy put his arm around me once he was beside me. I looked up at him, he may be a year younger, but he was much taller than me. "Let's get back inside, it's crazy out here!" He yelled over the storm. I slowly nodded then he started to move me forward out of the ocean. I started to shiver as the wind started to grow cold. As Troy and I walked through the door we saw Mom and Dad just coming down stairs to see what was going on. "What are you two doing?" Our mother cried. "Just, enjoying the weather." Troy replied sarcastically. "Get in here" She said as she pushed us through the door. Mom and dad looked us over. I looked down, and realized my brother and I were both soaked. My mom quickly went upstairs to get some towels. "What were you kids doing, the ocean is no place to go in this type of weather." My Dad said sternly. "You guys could have been swept away by the waves, gone forever." "Ask Alisson, I was trying to get her back inside." Troy grumbled, giving me an annoyed look. Passing the blame onto me, thanks little bro. I thought. My dad looked at me, waiting for my answer. "I don't know." I squeaked. I really had no idea what just happened. "You don't know? What in your right mind would make you decide it was okay to go swimming in this weather?" My dad's voice was strained, but I knew he was just worried about me. "I'm sorry." I replied shyly, my eyes started to sting. I was so confused, that I wanted to cry, and now my dad was yelling at me. My dad pulled me close to him, "I'm just worried about you, okay?" I nodded and buried my face into his stomach. "Don't do it again." He said, pulling me away to look at my face. I nodded again, and wiped my eyes. I hated crying, but I couldn't help it. Mom finally came downstairs with some towels. "Are you both okay?" She asked as she handed us both a towel. "Yeah." My brother and I said in unison. "Both of you go get changed into some dry clothes, and I'll make some breakfast." My brother and I both made our way up stairs into our own rooms and changed. When we came back downstairs, the clouds were starting to clear up. We sat down at the table where mom had put out omelets for us. "If the weather stays nice, we could walk around the shopping square." My mom said, looking up from her phone. I nodded, and my brother replied "Sounds good to me."
