    Feyris Seirin is the daughter of the only living Mesmerati to have earnt the title of Seabrave. But her father gave it all up because he believed in something bigger than himself - he believed in her. Now she has seven weeks to save her parents and restore her family's honour, and if she fails - they will go down as the worst criminals in the 10,000-year-old-history of the Mesmerati.
    
    In the world of Senterra, the MESMERATI (mes-may-raa-tee) are underwater-dwelling folk that have long forsaken the world that exists above waters. The male Mesmers (mess-mer) and the female Meresmera (mer-ess-meraa) have created a 10,000-year-old civilization that only interacts with one person from the world above waters every 100th year. The Nightstone and the Lightstone must be exchanged, else both worlds will be doomed to a century of absolute darkness. The Chosen One that is supposed to appear in the 100th year has not done so for the Mesmerati - and thus our story begins!
    
    Feyris Seirin is an excitable, fourteen-year old Meresmera. She lives in the underwater city of Silphenstine, deep within the Paganate Ocean. When the Chosen One does not make an appearance, the city is in a state of great agitation and Feyris is enjoying the hustle and bustle along with the other kids. Until she sees her parents being chased by the Protectorate. Her world is thrown into chaos when she sees her parents captured by the corrupt guardians of the Nightstone. However, before being imprisoned, her parents successfully stole the Nightstone and passed it onto her.
    
    Can she brave the perils of the open seas? Can she find the place of the Holy Ceremony? Will she have the courage to defy 10,000 years of history, defy everything their civilization has stood for, suffer the ignomy of being The First and only Mesmeraid, and come out of it in one piece?
