Witch Hunt

The world fell into ruins after the planet was targeted and attacked from an unknown source by unknown beings. Five selected heroes saved the world from this calamity, and yet they were seen as the cause of the destruction of half of the world's population. This slowly led to a hunt for the supernatural beings living among humanity, a yearly series of tests being required for each household. If one were to fail a majority of the tests, they were to be burned at the stake for a final test to see if they were one of the "monsters, disguised as humans." One was discovered in the past, and only four remain, passing the power down over decades as their offspring attempt to blend into society, just as well as their parents had, destined for something greater.
