I've lived on the Mississippi coast for 30 years. I've been through four or five hurricanes and countless tropical storms. Before Katrina came through, I thought, "If my house gets washed away, I'll just stay at my mother's house or my brother's house" - never thinking all our homes would be destroyed. But they were, so everyone in my family is now a refugee.
On Friday night (Aug. 26), some of us boarded up our houses. Others in town were saying that they didn't want to "overreact" to the hurricane forecasts. But I was running around like crazy, yelling, "This is a (category) four!"

I could see my mother already getting the treatment she needs for sickness to go away, but what if it was a false alarm as usual. I took slowest time ever because I been through this a multiple times. I emerged myself out in the open, squinting my eyes for the sun to hit my face immediately. Escaping the Monster's Embrace (OLD BEING REWRITTEN )

The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth.
