Protect the Fallen

Years after the battle of New York, Maria has been living in Sokovia alone to take a break from her adventure to the truth. But when she hears gunshots in the distance, she is pulled back into the family that she had left behind. When Barton catches sight of her, he and the other Avengers except for Tony, try to keep her secret hidden until she is ready to meet her father once again. But before Tony can get close to his fallen daughter, they are hit with another wave of a battle against a project gone wrong. Maria is thrown into a new truth as she has more questions than answers. But what happens when she falls in love with a speedster, but only to lose him during a battle. Will she give up fully on the Avengers or will she be able to come to terms that she can't always save the fallen ones?
