"Just one question: how?" Steve spoke as he tried to wrap his mind about the whole thing about me being here and alive. I sat onto my couch and spoke. "It not how, but why? I faked my death, because I was told to. I did get hurt by the way when you guys thought I was dying. " I told him as he looked down and tried to find the right words to say next. He then spoke. "But it was fair to put Tony through all that turmoil of your death. You know how devastated he was when he knew you weren't coming back?" He asked as I looked down. "I didn't want to, but I had to. If I wanted to know more about my real family, I had to fake my death." I told him as I closed my eyes. "I loved my dad dearly. I knew I was going to hurt him more then some breakup with two teenagers. But here I am, wanting to see him again and tell him alive. But I don't know how I am going approach him, but then I heard about the party on Saturday." I explained to Steve as he nods.
"Until then, I'll be hiding in here. " I said as he nodded and stared at me with his blue eyes, while they bore into my silver ones. "You've changed Maria, I hope you know that. " Steve adds as I smiled at his comment. "Now go, before anyone suspects anything about my presence here." I told him as I started to push him out of my room. "Wait, I will tell the rest of the team that you are here. So they know not to go into your room. Natasha had been doing that for a while" he says as I nods. "As long as they don't say anything to Tony. " I told him as he nods and walks out of my room and shutting the door behind him. I walked to my bed which was up on a small platform like a bunk bed but instead it was just my bed and small desk which had my computer. I looked through many different documents that I left unopened on my desktop while reading each one.
It was night time when I finished. I heard a small knock on my door as I shut my computer down and quickly hid as I looked down at the door as they person opened it. It was Clint which held a small tray of food. "Maria?" He called my name as I sneezed quietly which made my place known to him. He looked up and saw me staring down at him. "Here Steve told me to come down and see you. And also to bring you food." He says as he raises the small tray to see there was grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a small glass of water. I took the tray and put it onto my desk and sat onto the floor while I looked down at him. "How are you doing? Last time, I saw you, you had gotten shot or grazed." I asked him as he smiled. "Very good, Dr. Cho, a friend of your father's had a machine that made up the burn off tissue on my side. But I wanted to say thank you in an appropriate way. You came out of nowhere. When you protected me, I thought I was seeing my guardian angel. But my guardian angel was in all black. Then you turned and I knew I was seeing an angel, until I heard that Steve and Thor saw you. Why?" He asked as i sighed deeply and spoke calmly and stared at him. "There are some things that can't be explained in words but can be explained in actions. I did it to find who I really was." I told him as he shook his head. "Did you?" He asked while I shook my head. "I have more questions than answers." I replied to him while grabbing the sandwich and started to eat it while Clint watched me, until I finished the food and water. After I finished, I gave him the tray and watched as he walked out but before he left i called his name.
"Clint?" I called to him, he stopped and looked back at me. "I'm sorry for causing you a hardship of thinking I was dead." I apologized as he sighed and walked back Into my room and got onto the latter and looked at me. "It's okay, as long you're alive, I can say I am happy you are not gone. " He says before walking out of my room. I sighed and pulled my head back as I fell asleep and letting my dreams wander back to my memories. A small child looking up at a man who held so much business success and yet, he had enough time in the world to care for a small child that was never his to begin with. But he still cared for her as his own.
The black haired man held the small child close to him while he kissed her small forehead before stroking her small head with giant palm. The child held a small stuff toy in her small clutches while she stared at nothing but the skies. She was such small innocent child who didn't know that in her future, there will be guilt and pain. I blinked at the memory while the scene played out. He put her down and started to work on his armor while she watched at what he was doing.
