Bloodlines

Ivory and gold.... that's what Victory is, a Gelkin boy with cloud-white wings and the damning ochre blood of their enemies. Victory should have joined the dead when he was shot from the sky by a skin-changer Annihilator, but Enfriator spared his life and opened his eyes, just as struck by the gold running from his veins, the very same as her own.

Their communion is as jarring as it is unexpected, and even once they are free of each other's presence, the knowledge of Victory's mixed blood and the undeniable, vivid memory of their shared encounter dogs them day and night. As Enfriator works to repress her feelings, Victory embraces his, his sole source of comfort as the hidden history of his past bubbles to the surface.

When the last tie to his family shatters, Victory embarks on a reckless flight straight into the jaws of the skin-changer kingdom- a decision that will reunite him with Enfriator, even as it puts him in greater danger than ever before.
