Falling is inevitable. And when you start, it is hard to stop.

Blaze O'Toole, a teenage alcoholic and frequent drug taker changed from the girl she once was after a horrific tragedy that stole everything from her, piece by piece.

Every time she drinks or swallows a pill, she falls deeper, becoming further away from those who care about her.

After her Godparents failed attempts to get her help, after Blaze sent previous counsellors away, Nicola, her Godmother insists that Blaze once and for will get help, threatening to kick her out of the house.

Being pushed into a group session with a new mentor, Blaze tries to swallow her pride and try it out, even though in the back of her mind it will all end the same, with her being thrown out after being difficult.

Though when she gets there and meets River Raeken, her new mentor, everything seems to change. He cares, not like the others before, and to Blaze, that's scary. River, unbeknownst to Blaze, has a past of his own, and struggles that have rose up in his mind again.

The two of them are broken, cracks in their walls that can never be repaired. But maybe that is what will help each other, because they understand.

Can Blaze let the horrific night go? And can River hold on?

And could they possibly both catch each other from the treacherous fall they are on?
