I do think that each character in every book has their own story, so what did Petunia's say about her. Our flat one dimension version of Petunia couldn't possibly be her whole character. What if Harry's abuse was worse? Did Petunia have regrets? Why was Harry's childhood so awful, and could Petunia have fixed it if she tried? She asks herself every day, could she have fixed it if she tried?
