The First Hunger Games

My name is Rose Abernathy, and I'm 16. It's the morning of the reapings so I got up extra early to go hunting. I live in District 11, so the fence is only on 5% of the time to save energy to charge the irrigation systems for the crops. The sun is starting to rise so I figure I need to start heading back to our house. Last year the peacekeepers were brought in to supervise the construction in our district, the Victor Village. I guess it's in every district for when a person wins the Hunger Games. I don't understand why all of this is happening, but if I make it out of these games I will find out!
