Padmé did not plan to die in childbirth, but apparently, she didn't get a say in the matter. Her heart might've been broken, but her spirit wasn't, and she was screaming on the inside and scratching at the walls of her fading mind as her life slipped away. She'd given Anakin her heart, but now that the man she loved was gone she'd have been more than happy to take it back and devote it to her children and justice for the galaxy. She'd have liked to make her husband see sense or leave him for good. Instead she died. But the force seemed to appreciate a true fighter and so Padmé awoke when she never expected to do so again. And was presented with the possibility to try and change or even completely prevent the dark times she witnessed last before becoming one with the force. She has to jump over her shadow, and it's a BIG shadow, but she'd rather be damned than let the possibility pass her by to grab the grand factor in the fate of the universe by his little neck and talk some sense into him before it is too late. And if it takes her years and she dies without knowing if she managed to succeed and never gets to return to her time and her children, so be it. At least she'll know that she tried and did everything she could. ------------------------ Obviously don't own Star Wars. *warning* Implications of rape and abuse, depiction of child abuse and its consequences. AND NO; THIS ISN'T PALPATINE/PADMÉ!!!!!! Just no.
