After Damon and Bonnie's death, Caroline went after the emotionless Stefan to help him get his humanity back.

She finds him in the very specific City that the one and only original hybrid lived in. Which she had a thing for him, and already admitted that to him in his last visit back in mystic falls in the woods.

Caroline will deal with the hardheaded Stefan and the endless problems in New Orleans.
