Pest, as the human son of two fairies, is an anomaly--or as his father puts it--an unwelcome surprise.

Why?

Well, his fairy parents are forced into human form--obligated to protect him until he dies. In an effort to be rid of him quicker, his father invokes the fates to give Pest the ultimate deathblow--a wife. Pest, mistakenly chooses an ogre name Fanli.

But ogre companionship brings magic...and shame. Pest falters, so Fanli makes plans of her own--and they don't include him.
