In a decrepit house on the edge of town lives a woman of black and white named Eleanor. From her clothing to her pale skin to her own lusterless personality, her life is in grayscale. She lives in solitude and depression, having lost all motivation to continue her once-beloved hobby of painting. That is, until a caretaker at the local orphanage convinces her to adopt a child. That's when Josh, a shy little boy dressed in blue, shows up to live with Eleanor as his new guardian. The reticent Eleanor and the timid Josh are not quick to bond, but having such a colorful little boy in the house sparks something within Eleanor that she had lost long ago.
