Artemisia is a young apprentice knight whose life begins in the Underground. Taken under the wing of Erwin Smith and Levi Ackerman, she is primed for a spot in the coveted Royal Guard, reporting to Captain Jean Kirstein. Royal squabbles, puzzling prophecies, murder, and power struggles within the knights tugs Artemisia in different direction on her quest to become the strongest knight. Her captain, Jean Kirstein, never ceases to get under skin. Albeit annoying, she finds herself attached to him, relying on him against her own nature. Joined by her newfound best friends, together they navigate the everchanging war, both on the battleground and inside the castle.
