Martin is a professional ice hockey player for the Roseland Thorns, and it's all he's passionate about. But once a seemingly benign injury has come back to haunt him, he may be on the verge of ending his career.

James is a veteran all-star from the viciously competent Scarletteville Bloodletters, but recently was traded to the Roseland Thorns for unknown reasons. James has a few more years in him, but he's becoming jaded with hockey.

Will their encounter help them both see that there can still be joy in life with or without hockey?
