"I can't be with you."

I won't let them take the one good thing in my life.

"Yes, you can Davis."

Just one touch from him and it feels like anything can happen. I can be anyone, but that's not reality. If I get too close to him they could hurt him, even kill him. I won't let that happen.

"You don't understand."

"Then make me understand, damn it!"

The anger in his tone hurts, but I'm doing this to him...to us.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

I'm not good for you. I'm not good for anyone.

I have to go before they know. They can't know!

"If something is wrong then tell me. We'll fix this."

It can't be fixed. I can't be fixed! You can't fix what's completely broken.

"Goodbye Liam."

"No!"

His lips land on mine and I wish that could fix everything, but I kiss him back with all I can for one last time. When I pull away, I run out without looking back.

It's for the best. I'll do anything to keep him safe even if it kills me.
