[ON HOLD] In this world, when children are born, they have a chance of developing heterochromia, which gives them a special power. This power can be anything from fighting, mind-reading or speaking different languages to climbing trees, juggling, cooking or dancing. No matter the Grace, every Graceling is sent to train under the king of their hometown. Marinette is one of the few Gracelings in Paris. She, however, has a dangerous Grace, one that people would kill to have. Marinette knows this. So, she hides her true Graceling power under her carefully practiced talent of sewing and fashion designing. Marinette thrives in the palace, but all to soon, a new Graceling girl is sent to the palace, one who is rumoured to have the Grace of beauty, or the Grace of kindness, loyalty, and generosity. Marinette is the only one who sees Lila for who she truly is. Lila's true Grace is persuasion, the act of convincing people to believe whatever she says. This is where our story starts. In the palace of France, with Marinette and her lying rival.
