There has always been the few who just won't lie down and die. Below the ground, they are developing new treatments to combat a growing catastrophe caused by bio-nuclear war. And just as there are always those who never say die, there are those who become desperate, and take it all too far.
Katie is an eight year old survivor. Along with her protector Maurice, the two are thrust into this world of savagery and suffering without anything more than the clothes no their backs. Since the day they left the storage blocks, Terrae has never been more foreboding.
Two miles away from the largest city in Terrae, there is a chemical testing facility. From the outside, it looks like a storage block. Row upon row of rusty metal rectangles. Each one hollow, besides the occasional rat or the scattered amount of foliage that had made its way into the containers.
There were once a lot of places like this on Terrae. The planet had been painted silver and black by human technology. Now, there is only a fraction left of what once was a blooming population of sentient pioneers.
The tides have turned. The plant now dominates the being. And the human race is losing.

100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)
Baylo: The Cosmic Dog by JosiahDockery
7 parts Ongoing
CHAPTERS RELEASE EVERY TUESDAY! Baylo was just a loyal golden retriever, living a quiet life on the moon colony-until a surge of cosmic power changed everything. Suddenly, he's more than a pet; he's a force unlike anything the colony has seen. Alongside Ellio, the boy who has always been his closest friend, Baylo begins to uncover secrets buried deep within the colony's walls. Strange occurrences, hidden experiments, and a shadowy threat loom around every corner. For Baylo, courage, loyalty, and instincts will be tested like never before-and the fate of the home he loves may rest in his paws. ___________________________________________________________________ Preview: The pink sunset over the moon colony was silent. Its light beamed through the artificial atmosphere, soft and alien, casting a rose-hued tint across the glass domes and skeletal infrastructure. The colony itself was built around three immense dome structures, each one housing a different facet of survival-agriculture, research, habitation-all dwarfed by a single tower that rose above them like a needle through fabric. It watched over everything, unmoving, unblinking. The buildings-sleek, metallic, utilitarian-sat beneath the tower's shadow. Nothing moved with urgency. No birds. No wind. Only the hollow hum of recycled air and the distant hissing of pressure locks opening and closing. Inside the domes, colonists moved like clockwork. Farmers in soil labs adjusted nutrient tubes to the roots of synthetic crops. Engineers ran diagnostics on life-support units. Researchers stared into data displays, their faces washed in ghost-blue light. All of them were quiet. All of them were tired. No one laughed anymore. No one talked about their home world anymore. But even if no one said it, the grief clung to everything-the way people avoided eye contact, the hollow way they said "Good morning," and the way every hallway echoed too much, like the colony itself had grown too big for the shrunken souls inside.

"She actually decided to run from me... I don't know if she was a coward or just too weak and selfish to even consider giving me chance."
