Silent Scream

In the kingdom of Velyria, strict laws dictate the lives of its people, particularly their right to reproduce. Every woman must have exactly three children: the eldest inherits the family business, the second-born is conscripted into the military, and the third becomes a scholar. Breaking this law means brutal punishment-execution, exile, or enslavement.

Merritt, an illegal fourth-born child, was spared execution but raised as an outcast after his mother's death.
