In the vibrant city of Cape Town, 22-year-old Zanele, a Black South Africanwoman, is grappling with a deep sense of disconnection and depression. Her world feels dim and out of sync, and she longs for a spark of joy to reignite her spirit.

Everything changes when Zanele reconnects with Tariq, a charming and talented artist she's known since childhood. As their friendship evolves into something deeper, Zanele finds herself experiencing love for the first time. This new romance brings both excitement and confusion, as she struggles to balance her love for Tariq with her commitment to her faith and personal values.

Zanele's emotional journey is further complicated by her own insecurities and social awkwardness. The challenge of staying true to her cultural and religious practices while embracing her feelings for Tariq becomes a heavy burden.
