Everyday Heroes takes place in a world where some people secretly have superpowers and fight against villains. The story follows a group of teenagers who are training to become heroes, learning to control their powers while also dealing with the everyday struggles of being a teen. Kiera is the main character, but the story also focuses on the challenges faced by the other characters as they discover that being a hero isn't just about their powers, but about overcoming their own personal battles.
Trigger Warning:
This story covers sensitive topics, including mental health issues like anorexia, trauma/PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, anger disorders, and anxiety. It also talks about physical illnesses and contains graphic scenes of abuse and self-harm. I've put effort into researching these topics to make them as realistic as possible, but I may not get everything exactly right. This story is fictional and for entertainment purposes. I mean no disrespect to anyone when writing this.

We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. I should be dead. At least, that's what the government officials told me in the super-secret lab where I woke up strapped to a mattress in a windowless room...Sound problematic to anyone else?
