Gossiping aunties, nosy neighbors, lots of expectations and plenty of hypocrisy all thrown in with lots of food, celebrations, music and dancing. Yup that's how I'd summarize the Indian community. It's a lot of pressure to be an Indian kid. There is a lot of pressure if you don't conform to what the community defines as "success." So what length will you go to please your parents, hide things from your parents, deceive your parents and find your own happiness? But then again, how different are you from your parents? Do you make fun of them for gossiping and then do the exact same thing with your friend circle? How far does the apple fall from the tree?
