In the miracle that is called life, nothing is permanent. Humans change and that is the reason why our species has evolved. But just like in nature, an adaptation or change can be both beneficial and harmful. But as the author of the Hunger Games states, 'May the odds ever be in your favor'. Well the odds were not in favor of Milo Spivack. With enchanting eyes as green as emeralds, in the end they are more harmful rather than helpful. For Milo sees the world as a mix of sounds and smells rather than sights. In kindergarten Milo seemed estranged from his fellow classmates. Of course losing a sense does not happen overnight but rather overtime. But his parents knew it would happen, they just didn't know when. So they took every precaution too give their son any precious time he had left. But he lost all of his eyesight by the time he became a teenager. Of course, his eyesight didn't weaken quickly but gradually, like sleep.
