Later in the day Lizzie leaves and my sister is asking me if I'd like to go to the park with her and her kids. I figure going to the park is a pretty nice way to spend a Saturday. Considering the fact that her kids are pretty young, Isabelle usually packs some light snacks when she ever takes her kids with her somewhere. Her daughter, Leona is nine years old and her son, Andrew is seven years old.
Since the park isn't that far from my house we decide to walk there instead.
"Where's your cane?" Isabelle asks me.
"I don't want to use it, I'll be fine at the park, I know it pretty well. Plus I'm going with you guys so I'll let you guide me." I respond back to Isabelle, maybe a little in that smart ass way.
"Alright, fine if that's how your going to be. Do you want me to guide you or anything though?"
"No that's alright Jingle Bells."
I hate using a cane. In fact what I usually do is I wear a pair of shoes that are very thin on the bottom so that I can see better. As long as nothing is flying in the air than I'm usually good.
Then at the park 10 minutes later, Isabelle told me she's going to be sitting on the benches. I guessed she was reading because she loves any excuse to read a book. While my niece, Leona, and nephew, Andrew, are running around somewhere.
A big rock about the size of my hand is in front of me so I quickly whisk it away rather than trip on it I start to get suspicious because at that moment I hear a gasp of disbelief.
Uh oh. That can't be good because let's just say it's better if nobody saw what was happening.
"Hey h-how did you do that?" The strangers voice turns out to sound female.
"Do what?" I counter back as though I'm confused.
"That thing... where you just moved that rock without even kicking it."
"What are you talking about I was doing a tirck and it must've been a trick of the light or were you staring at me?" I smirk
"I know what I saw, and this is huge someone has to know." She says this with a forceful determination in her voice
"Know what?" I ask innocently.
"That you can move move rocks like somebody in X-Men?"
"Actually I don't think any of the X-1Men can move rocks with their hand. But let me tell you that if you tell people what you saw they're most likely not going to believe you. That s unless you have proof." mIdiot why did you give her that idea what if she does have proof . For a second I panic thinking she did record me or something but then I regain my composure and seem composed and laid back
"There you just admitted it and well I'll get proof," she mutters.
"Actually I didn't admit anything, I just stated a statement but have fun telling people what you think you saw." I reply back. Real smooth, Milo.
After our little confrontation, she walks away angrily.
I try not to freak out that maybe she saw me but even if she saw my questionable geokinet ability, that girl couldn't tell anyone, right? As long as she doesn't have any proof that I know of then good but how did she see? Must have some great eyesight to see my little magnificent act I performed.
The day is warm but not so much that it's annoying. To compete with the warm ray of the sun on my face is a nice cool breeze blowing by. In the distance I hear the tune of an ice cream truck. I decide to let Leona and Andrew know about the ice cream truck.
"Leona, Andrew, you guys want ice cream?" I yell so they can hear me.
As I say this, I hear the sound of running feet. The sound get is getting louder and louder by the minute. Before I can tell what's going on, someone crashes into me again for the second time today. I'm guessing it's Andrew or Leona, or both.
"What's all the commotion about?" Isabelle asks with a bit of worry in her voice.
"I kinda crashed into Milo." Leona says sheepishly.
"Are you alright, Milo?" Isabelle in turn asks me.
"Yeah I'm alright." As I say this Leona apologizes to me at the same time.
"Sorry Milo."
"It's okay. Where's Andrew?"
"Oh we were having ice cream. Want some?" She asks.
"Nah, I'm good."
He comes running toward us and then we start our walk toward home.
summer ~last year
I sneak out at night. Well I wasn't technically sneaking out at night but I just went out. Out in the humid night air I walk toward the part of our house where no one ever goes to. Gesturing with my hands I open a hole roughly the size of a manhole cover Quickly I jump in. The ground rumbles underneath me, something isn't right because this is the tremor of an earthquake but something else has grabbed my attention. There are miners a couple miles ahead of me. I quickly think of an excuse to get them out of here because the mine had been destroyed in an important area and it could collapse any second.
A man is lying on the floor with a layer of dust over him. I freak out for a second but quickly regain my emotions. I lean down and check his pulse. there a pulse but it's week. He's unconscious so I focus on getting the dust off of him it takes a while to get above ground but once we finally reach there I don't wake him but start yelly for help once people come out I run away from the scene. That man I later find out was an illegal worker. Later the next night I'm walking on the beach when a burly man is following me as I turn around. He has me in a headlock, while I gasp trying to breathe when I manage to make the twisting motion with my hands, in an instant he realeases his hold on me and his whole torso is under the sand with the exception of his head. Again I leave under cover of the dark night. When I'm at a distance, I flick my wrist and have him out of the sand.
