That's what Paarai's adoptive mother keeps telling her, but with every day that passes she's doubting her more and more. Paarai is one hundred percent certain that she likes girls, and her secret relationship with Sofia is only confirming her thoughts.

The problem is, Paarai's family is extremely conservative; she's homeschooled, and she attends church frequently. Every Sunday, the family gathers around and reads passages from the bible, which of course lists homosexuality as an abomination. Despite these constant putdowns, Paarai somehow found the courage to tell her mother how she felt...only to earn a harsh scolding and further discrimination.

But Paarai won't give up. She knows that she loves Sofia, and no beliefs can push away her feelings. At only sixteen years old, Paarai is forced to make a life-changing decision...her family or love?
