Mhairi MacKay is a successful Edinburgh advocate. She is currently involved in a drug dealing case to be heard at the High Court. There have been delays to the case though. Unnervingly she also begins to sense a presence in her apartment.
Meanwhile, Maggie Lang is sat at home mourning the loss of her son Jamie. His nineteen years of life were over, taken by suicide. All he left was a diary that showed his total obsession with a girl called Jenny. The last entry in the diary stated Jamie was about to declare his feelings to Jenny. Then he was found dead. Maggie wants answers.
John Osprey’s fledgling paranormal investigation firm was struggling for revenue – a reality that was impacting on his home life, as his wife Emma demanded a steady income to support their four-year-old daughter Chloe. He is helped in his investigations by Teez, a young woman obsessed by the paranormal, and Colin Campbell, an alcoholic psychic.
