Rapture

Charlotte Hudson has the worst luck. She can never go somewhere without embarrassment, injury, or tragedy trailing close behind-- and on top of that, she doesn't have anyone who can be there for her. Her friends have gone off to college, her parents had dumped her onto her grandmother's front porch and left, and her grandmother is slowly withering away on a hospital bed. Her life couldn't possibly be worse...

The run-down, suburban Shire City Charlotte lives in is haunted by the villain Nemesis, who pillages and plunders as he so desires. The chances of running into him are extremely small given his constant battles with the city's only hero, Shadow Man-- but meaning something to the wrong people casts Charlotte into a world of evil people, distressing damsels, and pitted desires coming to light.

So how will she survive?
