After the vam'un were denied the extra rights they felt they were entitled to by the Federation they split off from every other race in the Milky Way and declared war on them all. Before anyone could react they had taken the home-worlds of two species and a third by the time the Federation had prepared their fleets. With both sides now fully prepared there was a galaxy-wide stalemate, which left the conquered planets expectant of a quick liberation and so they took matters into their own hands.
