Dan and Phil live in a world where the first thing one of your five soulmates says to you is imprinted in your wrist, since birth. When your soulmates die the mark fades staying there permanently. Not all soulmates have to be romantically involved, most just love each other platonically.
    
    All of Dan's marks, but one is faded; a rare trait at such a young age. Phil was born with only one mark on his wrist, and is an outcast of society, due to him being deaf and only having one mark.
    
    When Dan, the boy who doesn't care and Phil, the new, deaf kid befriend each other without knowing that they are soulmates what is the worse that could happen?
