What is a dream?

But is that what a dream really is? What about the fact that most people can't remember their dreams? Or even if they can and wake up remembering them, what do they mean? Are dreams really just thoughts or are they portals to another world? Are they really only in our minds or are they an entirely different entity? Whatever they might be... some are just unexplainable... some are just unreal and some... are just... incredible...
