After emperor Trajan annexed Dacia, many Caledoni became more interested in becoming Roman due to the access to gold mines in the new province Dacia. A lot of them migrated to London in order to become involved in Roman commerce. The Caledoni send messengers to Rome requesting permit to trade with the Dacians. Within two years the Caledoni opportunists became wealthy. They reported their gains to their homeland. One of them returns to Caledonia in the hope to gain status with King Arvid. His corpse was found on a road far away from the palace. The murder caused much unrest in the south of Caledonia. The Roman governor of Britain even used this homicide as an excuse to raid several villages in the south of Caledonia. Despite Caledonia being a client kingdom of Rome, they were still treated as 'barbaric' by the officials in London. As a response King Arvid send advocates to London to find a solution, while he remained in Caledonia to prevent a civil war between the pro-Roman and the anti-Roman clans.
