A 20 year old waitress has had enough of her flirty boss so she goes to where she feels safe: a pier at the nearby beach. She stares into the water, thinking about all the men who have broken her heart or lied to her and soon a song catches her attention as well as a glow from below the surface. She leans closer to the water, under a trace made by a siren and she falls in. Moments from drowning she finds herself and a naked man on the beach miles away from the pier. What he tells her will change her life forever.

A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school.
