I have struggled to fully understand the nauseating, gut-wrenching horribly foul feeling I experience every time I come close to a dead fish. Although, I would argue, nobody particularly likes dead fish, I have yet to meet another person who fears them in the same way I do. Writing this poem was cathartic to me as I realized some feelings I carried about dead fish had purpose.
