Hey, guys. Here's just some things to remember about trans people! - A trans person is simply someone that is not the sex they were assigned at birth. That means that non-binary, demi girls, demi boys, agender, gender fluid, ect. people are all considered under the trans umbrella (unless some says they do not identify with the word transgender and don't want it to be used when referring to themselves). - It's trans men and trans women and trans person, not transmen or transwoemn. Trans is an adjective. - Never call people FTMs or MTFs without their permission. - Trans is short for transgender, it's not plural for anything. Trans people is the correct plural use. -Never use "born in the wrong body" or "used to be a girl and became a boy" or "biological/generically male/female/". All of these are just fancy ways of misgendering a person (though a trans person self identifying with these phrases is different). - Transgendered in wrong, and so is a "transgendered" and "transgenders". - Being trans is not a sexuality nor is it a "sexual disorder". Don't call someone a transsexual, as the sexual suffix is normally used with sexualities, and being trans is not a sexuality. - Don't refer to a trans person's gender as their gender identity, it's just their gender. - Similarly, don't refer to their pronouns as "preferred pronouns". They are not preferred, they're mandatory. Respect everyone's gender and pronouns, and whatever else they wish to be refereed to as or associated with. And remember that no matter what anyone says to you, YOU ARE VALID! ~ Ghost
