Can someone recommend an interesting historical novel with no smut?

@-thehappywriter- 'The first born' and 'of Beauty and the beasts'. I haven't read some of these but I'm a Christian as well so I check them to make sure they're free of smut but then...things could happen, so..I'm not too sure but you can still check them out
