I would like to address a topic which some may sound sensitive. There are allusions to a recent event that has taken place.
There is a lot that is understandable about loving music, especially for artists that you love and admire. You may buy merch, attend offline events and express your gratitude online for them.
But there are boundaries between fan and celebrity that should not be crossed. They should be respected. Accordingly, this line carries on to behaviour between fan to fan interaction as well.
There have been too many instances in which this mindset has not been upheld, and instead is now a reminder of what the consequences are for such actions.
I hope many people will sit and reflect on this. That they will not make unchangeable assumptions based on face value and will be open minded as to accept that other things happen away from what they see. I hope that such attitudes that have been demonstrated by fans will undergo a much needed change.
As such, the actions may appear harmless to the perpetrator, but their impact on those affected is unimaginable. It seems that, as much as some people are being told, there has been no such change in the attitudes.
What happened should never, ever happen again, and likewise should never have happened in the first place.
Things need to change, and they need to change now. What happened was not a ‘reminder’ and should never be addressed as one. It was an event that was beyond the final warning.
This is not acceptable, and should never have been tolerated in the first place.
