Coming back after 4 months to say the new book is utter dogshit. Everyone's not acting the way they normally are, like they've suddenly gone childish. 
          
          One example? People who have read the book already know who's changed (for the worst) a lot. She's turned from a grown up and mature person into some emo girl which doesn't make sense. It's obvious she would open up more one day, but not in this manner. I expected Gibbs to write it in a way that she would talk more about herself bit by bit, after more emotional/dangerous sequences, not after every single fucking prompt. She's gone from having ice in her veins to becoming a girl that has confidence issues, which doesn't make sense.
          
          Now there's one more character that readers would probably have noticed changed for the worse as well. She's gone from being a friendly person that wouldn't intrude and get too comfortable to being another emo girl who cares if she's the fucking ninth wheel or some shit. The conversation both of them had at night outside the tent makes absolutely no sense and perceives them as fucking 13 year olds concerned about who to get with. Basically, everyone suddenly went from mature to immature in this book, and the second hand embarrassment I feel for Stuart Gibbs is so bad I don't even dare to mention the name of his characters now.
          
          Charlie Thorne beat this by a mile in terms of standards and quality. Up your fucking game, you're not writing for a fanfiction website.

I’m doing all I can to keep this dying community alive, but everyone here has pretty much outgrown spy school. I love this community I rly do but I don’t think we’ll hold out for much longer, smh204 has left and many others are now inactive. We are getting older and this community will die with what’s left of the series. I enjoyed every moment, memory and story update in my time in this community. Thank you for all the memories and I hope that one day, younger people will rediscover the hidden gem of spy school novels and revive this community. But until then goodbye.

           working with spy school characters after realizing gibbs' trap in luring us to read and buy more books just feels cringe, so i can't do it.

           I'm cancelling every single one of my book.
          
           I read a lot of well written books such as pjo, and even boring autobiographies. After like 6 months, I came back and when I decided to read a fanfiction,  I could not stop cringing.
          
           I have like this sort of ocd about grammar and when some eight year old writes some sentence that i dont even know how to make sense of i instantly cringe and i've done that a lot when i came back for a while.
          
           i realize just why spy school is not that popular. it feels stale to me now. for example everyone in the series has plot armor, the relationships are too cliche, (erica is just too wanted by everyone), and you know how it's going to turn out overall.
          
           i already got myself blocked in spy school wiki for trying to explain how fanfic writers should change their writing style. first, they took me as a disrespectful idiot, saying that i was calling stories shit without reading them, when all i was trying to say was "focus more on action not romance". only 2 people could tell what i was saying.
          
          second, i don't sugarcoat things if you want me to.  if your book is fucking crap, i tell you that. if it's good, i tell you that too. i give my honest opinion. and i was blocked for negativity after reviewing one of the users' books revolving around a love triangle with a fake character that was utter cringe and garbage.
          
          it's not just this fandom. across everywhere, i see shit like "reader x oc" and that kind of fuck. It's SUPER annoying to even see the title. Because THERE'S NO AUTHOR WHO WOULD MAKE ROMANCE THE MAIN THEME. Do you think there's a story out there that's just full of kissing scenes and nothing else?
          
          I want to make a change. Stop writing romance and more action, because it's stale to see the same relationship over and over again. I've been hated on because of this point of view by many book fandoms.
          
          any of you out there who's reading this, if you're like one of these people, stop it, change.
